Statements of Faith

We believe in the one true God, creater of all things, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that these three are co-eternal and of equal dignity and power.

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ (fully God); His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit; His virgin birth (fully man); His sinless life; His substitutionary of death on a cross; His body resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of God the Father; and His personal, imminent return.

We believe in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit for all believers in Jesus Christ thus enabling and empowering the life and ministry of the believer to live a righteous and holy life.

We believe that the Bible is inspired, true ierrant Word of God. It is the ultimate authority for all matters of belief and behavior.

We believe that man was created by God and for God, but through disobedience became alienated from God resulting in both spiritual and physical death. Consequently, all people are sinners by nature.

We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again and that all who truly believe in Him and repent of their sins will be saved thus restoring their relationship with God. Salvation is wholly the work of God's grace and no man can do anything to earn salvation.

We believe human life is a sacred gift of God and only He has the power or right to end human life. We oppose abortion for any reason at any point of gestation from conception to birth as abortion destroys a living, growing human life. In the rare case that the mother's life is indeed endangered by a continuation of the pregnancy, sound medical practice would dictate that every effort be made to save both lives.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of everyone who has lived; the saved to everlasting life with God and those who have rejected God's son to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire.

We believe Jesus Christ has instituted the ordinances of baptism and communion to be observed by the church. Baptism is an act of obedience that follows salvation. Baptism does not save a person because Jesus Christ alone can save. It is an outward testimony that Christ has buried the old sinful nature of a person who has been saved and has raised that person to a new life in Jesus Christ. The elements of communion have no mystical or supernatural power. They are given as symbols of the sacrifice of His body and blood as an atonement for the sins of the world. We are to observe the Lord's Supper in remeberance of Him.

We believe that the term "marriage" has only one meaning and that is marriage sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. God intents sexual intimacy to only occur between a man and a woman who are married to each other. God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged ourside of a marriage between a man and a woman. Any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, or any attempt to change one's sex, or disagreement with one's biological sex, is sinful and offensice to God. In order to preserve the function and integrity of the church as the local body of Christ, and to provide a biblical rolemodel to the church members and community, it is imperative that all persons employed by the church in any capacity, those who serve as volunteers, or become members of this congregation, should abide by and agree with this statement on marriage and sexuality and conduct themselves accordingly. Accordingly, this church, its pastor, staff, and members will not participate in same sex unions or same sex marriages, nor shall its property or resources be used for such purposes.
