Mark 13

The world can be dark, but we have an incredible hope! This week's sermon dives into the challenging prophecies of Mark 13 with one powerful main point: No matter how dark our world gets, take heart—Christ is coming, so stay awake and be on guard.

What You Need to Know:

  1. Don't Be Surprised by Hardship: Jesus warned His followers about coming persecution and destruction (like the Temple's fall in 70 A.D.). For Christians today, this means expecting hardship, not comfort. The good news? The Holy Spirit will equip you to endure and witness.

  2. Guard Against Deception: Be warned of false messiahs and false prophets who try to lead you astray. Don't place your trust in human saviors, leaders, or governments. Our hope is in Jesus Christ alone.

  3. The Victory is Coming: All the tribulation and suffering we see is just a dark backdrop for the most glorious event: The Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory to gather His people. This is our secure, eternal hope!

  4. Stay Awake! Since no one knows the day or the hour of Christ's return, our job is not to predict, but to be on guard and stay awake. The best way to do this is by clinging to God's eternal truth: His Word will not pass away.

Trust in Jesus today and find your eternal security!
